Whistleblowing

Nye Veier encourages reporting concerns, so that the firm can take corrective action. Employees, contracted workers, suppliers and partners may report concerns through this whistleblowing channel.

The whistleblowing channel is operated by BDO, which is an independent third party. All reported concerns will be handled confidentially by BDO upon reception. Nye Veier encourages those who report concerns to disclose their identity, as this will usually make it easier to proceed with the report and verify the information provided. However, it is also possible report anonymously. Through the whistleblowing channel, the reporter can communicate anonymously with BDO through secure and encrypted messaging.

Reporters may also choose to remain anonymous to Nye Veier, but disclose their identity to BDO, as the recipient of the report. In that case, BDO will keep your identity and any identifiable information confidential. It will not be possible for Nye Veier to trace your identity if you report anonymously or choose to remain anonymous towards Nye Veier.

Thank you for using our whistleblowing channel.

Concerns may pertain to:

  • Suspected financial fraud (including theft, corruption, fraud, embezzlement, financial violations, or counterfeiting)
  • Suspected other illegal conditions
  • Harassment or bullying, discrimination or racism
  • Other violations of HSE rules (health, safety and environment)
  • Actions that violate the Nye Veier's core values
  • Labour crime and social dumping.

How to report?

There are four possible ways to report:

  • You can utilize the online Whistleblowing portal: https://nyeveier.integrityline.com/
  • You can contact BDO by phone at +47 970 86 000 (Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 3 PM)
  • You can visit BDO's offices in Bygdøy allé 2 in Oslo in person.
  • Send Letters to BDO: BDO, Varslingsmottaket, Post Box 1704, N-0121 Oslo.

It is the individual who decides whether to use the Whistleblowing portal and what to report. The reporter does not need to disclose evidence of what they believe to be objectionable. However, reports must be as precise as possible on what has actually occurred. The report should at least include the following:

  • Time (period of time) and location of the event
  • Specific information about what the relationship relates to and what the reporter builds this information on
  • Any person that the reporter knows or believes knows the relationship

The reporter can choose to remain anonymous. However, it will be easier to proceed with the report if reporters state their identity. If reporters state their identity, the report will be made under the full name, as this will generally ensure that the information can be tested and verified. Reports may also choose to remain anonymous to Nye Veier, but expose their identity to BDO, as the recipient of the report. Anyone who reports any possible concerns or wrongdoing conditions should be able to do so without fear of further consequences.

How are reports followed up?

When BDO receives a report on behalf of Nye Veier, they will send an acknowledgment to the whistleblower as confirmation of receipt. All incidents reported to BDO through the reporting channel will receive a case number for identification and reference.

The process also includes an assessment of how whistleblowers can be best supported. Reports about potential misconduct and/or illegal activities may contain sensitive information requiring extra privacy protection and the need for confidentiality.
